Kun Shoulder Rest Collaboration
We collaborated with Kun Shoulder Rest to design a fine tuner to commemorate their 50th anniversary this year. This is what we created in limited edition quantities. Follow Kun to learn more about them and for more details on the availability for these commemorative fine tuners! Here are some process photos to show what they looked like during the making of them from a 3-D rendering to the printed Wax, followed by the castings in Brass metal.
Our latest Commissioned Fine Tuner worth mentioning!
We recently made this special fine tuner for a Violinist who sent us a Fender guitar pick that belonged to her late musician dad to use as the material to inlay into our Solitaire fine tuner. Our creative director HyeJun took her jewelry saw and cut out two tine discs to inlay into the tuner while listening to some great guitar classics! Who makes your Luxitune tuners?
After years of explaining how we make these tuners, here is a home made video version of our Creative Director HyeJun sitting and finishing the final process of each Luxitune fine tuner.
The tuners in our existing collections require gluing of the Swarovski crystals into the finished and plated settings of each design using industrial strength 2-part epoxy glue to evoke the look of micro pavé gemstones in fine jewelry.
For custom pieces using precious gemstones and metals, there is no gluing involved, instead all stones are set into metal using different techniques.
Here she is gluing the stones for our Mesh Bow tie fine tuner before it shipped to its new home to a special Violinist.
